finally ready to share

: : so here it is : : my first try at a modern take on traditional Swedish kurbits patterns. I have been wanting to share this with all of you for a long time. these only existed in my head until a few weeks ago, when they actually started to take shape on my computer screen. will you let me know what you think? this is just a start, I hope to grow a lot from here, but these were some of my very first ideas. I have lots more.... but first, I'm curious about your thoughts.

Beautiful! I especially like the first one because it looks quite retro.

Superfina! I love the second one, it feels new and so the birchs which makes it so very swedisch. It´s like Dalarna, but different.

Love these! The first one is my favorite - I would love to have it painted on my kitchen cupboards. What are your plans for these - poster prints?

I also love the second one.

The third one is bright and cheery as well, but I think it doesn't grab us as as quickly, perhaps because there isn't a strong central focal point.

wow! by the time I get to work, all of you have already made it here. thank you, thank you for the wonderful comments!! seems like the first and the second one are favorites. polly, I think you might be right, the third one doesn't have a central focal point plus the colors aren't as bright. the cloud started as an illustration for a childs room, and then I grew the motif a little. I might need to work on this one.

I'm so excited! your comments are so inspiring! I would love to continue creating motifs, with the hopes that they could become poster prints or decals one day. and maybe start on some surface patterns.

thank you lovely ladies!

ÅÅhhh! Finally we get to see your work!

I love the first one the most. Classic, but somehow modern. Just beautiful.

Also love the second one, because it feels so very Swedish. It makes me happy (although a little home sick :)

The third one I could see in a kids room.

Hope to see more of your work!

Beautiful!

I love these designs - they make me feel so happy and really nostalgic for the sweeter moments of childhood. Do let us know if you plan to sell prints or fabric with these designs - especially the first one.

Thank you for posting them here.

I like the first one the most, as that's what my american brain thinks of as swedish pattern. But I like that you've updated it with modern colors and sleek lines. Keep going!

jättefina, den översta känns mest "svensk" i mina ögon. Skulle gärna se de som lakan, mums att sova i en säng bäddad med den understa.

I enjoy your modern take, particulary with the colors. For me, however, the symmetry in traditional kurbits is important and I would love to see a modern take that incorperated the vibrant colors and new ideas while maintaining some of the traditional symmetry. What a cool idea, though!
