Obama for change

: : hello friends : :
I don't usually like to share my politically viewpoints on the blog. but it is election season, and a very important, historical election. since I can't vote, sharing my opinion is the only way that I can participate in this election. .Obama. is the natural choice for me. NOTHING else makes sense to me. maybe it's cause I'm European.....like the cab driver in Geneva told me two weeks ago;"if the election was going to be held in Europe today, there would be no question about who would win". OBAMA. The fact that it is not a clear cut choice in this country amazes and scares me. Most of all, Sarah Palin scares me. I want to share a brief quote from an email I received this morning.

Perhaps like us, as American women, you share the fear of what Ms.
Palin and her professed beliefs and proven record could lead to for ourselves and for our present or future daughters. To date, she is against sex education, birth control, the pro-choice platform, environmental protection, alternative energy development, freedom of speech (as mayor she wanted to ban books and attempted to fire the librarian who stood against her), gun control, the separation of church and state, and polar bears. To say nothing of her complete lack of real preparation to become the second-most-powerful person on the planet.

How can you be against polarbears?

Thank you for this post. I did the same recently on my blog. This is election is too important for us to not be talking about it.

If Sen. Obama will promote your values, then of course you would want to promote his election. Anyone can understand this. I do hope, though, that people are a little more shrewd about believing the many smears that they see in the press about Gov. Palin. I think the media was not satisfied to attack Sen. Clinton when she ran. Now they are set to destroy the next woman who might challenge things in Washington.

I'm not american, and I understand why this woman scares you. What appalls me the most about her is her wanting to impose her beliefs to everyone else. Sounds pretty fascist to me. It also isn't helping that she stands against a lot of things I believe in(some of which stated in the quoted paragraph in your post). I do not understand people who claim to be pro-life but consider every other living creature as non-valuable objects. I would not have the stomach to sit in this office of hers:

anon 9:32, "Polar Bears live on the ice floes, the oil digging destroys the ice, and that would be the end of these beautiful creatures." That's how she is against polar bears.

thank you everyone for your comments. everyone is entitled to their own personal opinion, and I appreciate your expression of them here. This is in no way a political blog, I only shared my personal viewpoint because we are in the middle of this election and it is a topic that is on my mind daily. I enjoy hearing your voices on the matter. thank you!

I worry that Europe will quickly become disillusioned since no President is going to fundamentally change America's status as a superpower. Both Obama and McCain will be asking Europe to contribute more to the war on terror in military terms. Obama made this very clear in Berlin, although I'm not sure if people even heard him. Biden has been seething at Europe for a very long time.

I understand and respect your enthusiasm, but just as people have turned Palin into a cartoon (albeit with her help!), they have made Obama into whatever they hope for. I don't mean to be a buzz kill, but I think the coming decade is going to be tough, whoever becomes POTUS.
